Malaysian Village Style Hung Gar
This system is not related to the famous Hung Gar system of Wong Fei Hung. In fact, it's one of the many Hung Gar systems taught by Hung Hei Gun and his fellow classmates as they dispersed and escaped from the burning of the South Shaolin Temple during the Qing Dynasty. These systems are collectively known as Village Styles Hung Gar to separate it from the Fut San system of Wong Fei Hung.
Sigung Wong Kwong Hoong learned one of these systems from his fighting compatriots during his campaign for independence of Malaya against the British. After independence, he left the jungle and earned a living as a traditional Chinese doctor as well as teaching this art.
He was invited to teach in TAR College, Setapak in the early 1970s. He taught quite a number of students. One of them is Sifu Ng Huck Hai who took over his class later. Sifu James LeePK learned this art from the latter during his college days.
